 "67
Women - 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in
Pennsylvania"™ is a traveling photo exhibit
hosted by communities in Pennsylvania. This educational work of art
celebrates the life, courage, hope and dignity of
women and families who have battled breast
cancer. The exhibit is funded by the
Pennsylvania Department of Health and sponsored by
the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
This touching tribute showcases at
least one woman
from each of the state's 67 counties and serves as
a unique reminder of the emotional and physical
toll breast cancer takes on each woman and her
family. The exhibit encourages women to
learn about and practice early detection through
yearly mammograms, monthly breast self-exams, and
annual clinical exams. More than 103,000 women and their families
are living with breast cancer in the Commonwealth.
Since 1994, the exhibit has been hosted by over 80 communities
and reached millions of Pennsylvanians through the
extensive media coverage it attracts.
There are three components to
this exhibit:
- Education - geared toward
personal and political action
- Empowerment - to provide
information to alleviate fear
- Motivation - to provide
action to find a cause and a cure for breast
cancer

Exhibit
Description - Technical
There are 19
individual panels that are 7 feet high and 3 1/2
feet wide. Each panel fits into its own base
measuring 1 1/2 feet deep by 3 1/2 feet
wide. Each panel should be allotted
approximately 2 1/2 feet of walking space around
each base. The beauty of this exhibit design
is that the panels can be placed in a tight floor
plan. We suggest a minimum total area of
2,000 square feet to best display all the panels.
There is also a five-sided Media Kiosk which
houses audio and video equipment.
Electricity is required for this. One
regular 110 volt, 20 amp plug will suffice.
The cord (supplied by the PBCC) can be connected
to an overhead or floor outlet.
The exhibit will be
on display for 10 days. It is delivered very
early on a Thursday and will be picked up on the
Monday of the following week.
The site will NOT
be responsible for the storage of the transport
cases for the duration of the exhibit.
The site must be ADA (Americans with Disabilities
Act) accessible.
If you are
interested in hosting this exhibit, please email Jen
Fetich. We are always looking for new
sites!
