South Ann Concerned Neighbors (SACN) presents the 7th Annual Fun Pink Pageant, a pageant with a dual purpose to promote breast cancer awareness and introduce a women’s health initiative. The Fun Pink Pageant will feature women, 40 years old or over, some of whom are breast cancer survivors. The pageant participants represent the Susquehanna Valley and the Philadelphia regions and come from diverse backgrounds. This community event, with an emphasis on health equity for women and breast cancer awareness, will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 4:00 pm, Lancaster Mennonite Arts Center, 2176 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602. Our Mistress of Ceremonies will be Valerie Pritchett, News Anchor, ABC27 News.
The contestants will participate in four competitions:
- Introduction – while dressed in business casual attire, each contestant, using creativity will answer the question, “Who Am I.”
- Pink Themed Wear – each contestant will have an opportunity to dazzle the judges with a creative pink themed ensemble.
- Optional Talent Show – participants will have an opportunity to highlight their talent. Talent contestants will be judged by the three participating judges and not the audience. An individual prize of $100 will be awarded.
- Formal Wear – each contestant will have an opportunity to “wow” the judges dressed in formal wear while responding to two impromptu questions. There will be three professional women participating as judges for contestants to win prizes for personality displayed talent and creativity. The audience will electronically select the winner to be crowned. The winner will designate a charity of her choice for the $500 prize awarded. The first and second runner up winners will receive prizes.
South Ann Concerned Neighbors will donate a portion of the proceeds to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition to promote breast cancer research.
